The meeting was held at Mikeska’s BBQ, El Campo, TX.
-
There were 33 members and 5 guests present.
-
President Leonard Sternadel declared the meeting open at 1900 hours and the following business was transacted.
-
The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited and a prayer was said.
-
The meeting was then recessed for the meal and reconvened at 1945.
-
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as presented.
-
Our Chapter's Veterans Service Officer, Dwight “Henry the Fonz” Winkler thanked Leonard and Dana for all their hard work with the fish fry at their house. He then reminded all the members that free flu shots were available at Walgreen’s. In addition he also reminded everyone about the $100.00 life membership “deal” that will last until the end of December.
-
Dwight also provided a handout that included new “Presumptive Diseases” for navy veterans. The handout is also posted
on our Chapter's website. He recommended that all members vote for amendments 1 and 2 in the November election.
Please refer to the handout for further details regarding calculations for percentages of disabilities, amounts of
compensation, and information for senior living and senior services. Dwight does a great job preparing these handouts
that contain a wealth of valuable information to us vets – thanks so much Dwight!
-
Sternadel then reminded all about VVA's $100.00 life membership drive that was still in progress.
-
The following additional topics were covered:

About 45 persons were fed at the fish fry – a great success, much thanks to the Sternadels for hosting the event.

Reminder about the TSC conference in Beaumont – October 23 – 25th.
