The following chapter business was transacted.

Because chapter member and Wharton County "VA Accredited" Veteran
Service Officer, could not attend this meeting, chapter member Bob Supak gave Mike's Veterans Benefits presentation.
The presentation topic and handout included a complete current listing of 137 VA authorized UGENT CARE facilities
within a 100 mile radius of Wharton County. Mike's presentation at last month's meeting included the topic
of VA's new URGENT CARE healthcare benefit program.

Bob then gave a brief report (and handout) on the VVA National Convention that was held this past July. The report was
based off our TSC Secretary's report that we recently received, and included Newly elected officers, and the
results of several Amendments & Resolutions that could have affected several major changes to our VVA organization.
And again, we can all be relieved that the VVA organization will stay AS IS ... at least until the next VVA National
Convention in 2021, when the subject will again come up and again need to be voted on. Use the link below to view or

Frank Laitkep and Leonard Sternadel then lead a discussion regarding the upcoming annual Everyday Heroes Fundraiser
Banquet, that will be held in El Campo at the Civic Center, on Oct 9. The issue was that the Everyday Heroes event
conflicted with our monthly chapter meeting, and some of our membership did want to attend the Everyday Heroes event.
In the end, it was decided to still hold our monthly chapter meeting on Oct 9, and those chapter members who wanted
to attend the Everyday Heroes fundraiser may do so. Everyday Heroes, a Veterans support organization in El, Campo,
is a big supporter of Vietnam veterans and our chapter.

Leonard then presented a detailed report on our 2019 Chapter Fundraiser Raffle Drawing.
Leonard was the chairperson for the fundraiser.
The fundraiser was a great success. Leondard thanked all those members that sold tickets.
Of the 2,000 total number of tickets we started with, all but 60 tickets were sold!
You may read last month's chapter meeting report for all details on the fundraiser,
including descriptions and pictures of all prizes in the raffle, and the raffle drawing itself.
