VVA Chapter #1069 held its annual "Catch-Clean-Fry & Eat" Catfish Fishing party at the Sternadel pond on Saturday, May 14th, 2016. We had a total attendance of 45+ members, spouses & guests. By the late afternoon, several tubs full of catfish were caught. They were later cleaned and fried up for some good eats.
As above photo shows, there was plenty of tent cover provided to protect folks from the hot sun while they were
fishing or just sitting around enjoying the opportunity to visit with each other. Even an inflatable jump-house
was provided for the kids!

Above photo: Chapter member, Stephen Brady, shows off the big catfish that he just caught.
Stephen said that he has not done much fishing, so we are thinking that he had a fun day of
catching and reeling in those catfish to the bank.
Chapter member, Laurie Brady, also got in on the fun. In the above photo, she proudly shows off the catfish
that she just caught. And of course, her husband Stephen just has to get in on the picture too.
Above photo: The chapter would like to thank Pioneer Energy Services for providing some of the pop-up
covers for the day's event.
Above photo shows chapter member Jimmy Neumann's wife, Diane, showing off her fish, one of many that she caught during the day.
Chapter member Louise Milder and his wife Carolyn attended the event and brought along their granddaughter,
who in the above photo had just caught a nice catfish. She has been to these fishing parties before and is now
a real pro fisherman.
Above photo shows Scott Sternadel helping Whitney Brady show off the nice sized catfish that she just caught.
Whitney is Stephen Brady's daughter. Yes, it was a good day of fishing for the entire Brady family!
Above photo shows our Master Fryers for the event. On the left is chapter member James Kulcak. James is our star goto
member for all our chapter fund-raising events. On the right is a long-time friend & supporter of the chapter and supporter
of all Veterans in general, Mike Ryan. The chapter would like to thank both of these gentlemen for frying up some
wonderful catfish, hush puppies and french fries for all of us that day.
Above photo: The fishing party also provided a good opportunity for Leonard Sternadel, President of VVA Chapter 1069, to
present Mike Ryan with a special award given out by the VVA Texas State Council earlier this year.
Above photo: Mike was selected for the award for all the support he has given to Vietnam Veterans over the past years.
Congratulations Mike! Use the two links below for more details regarding Mike's award and his recent gift to all chapter members.

Above photo: Finally, it's time to eat! And what a great meal it was. We'd like to thank all those chapter members and spouses
that participated in the fishing event. Leonard would also like to thank those chapter members & spouses that came early to
setup for the event, and stayed late to help tear down. We hope everyone had a fun afternoon.
By the way, if you're a new chapter member, this is not the first fishing party that the Sternadels have hosted. Use the links below to see some photos from some of the other fishing parties.
