The photo below shows the Vietnam Veterans of America, VVA Chapter 1069, of El Campo, that attended the National Guard Family Day event. The VVA Chapter members helped setup the food serving line and then also served the food to all the National Guard and their family members. Estimated overall attendance to the event were at least 200+. Luckily, the rain held off during the outdoor event and the weather turned out to be very pleasant. Leonard Sternadel, President of VVA Chapter 1069 would like to thank all those chapter members (and spouses) that came out to help with the event.
The above photo shows the members of VVA chapter 1069 that attended the event. Left to right; Rusty Butts, Leonard Sternadel, Billy Orsak, Randy Ratcliff, David Juranek, Ronnie Miller, John Steelman, Louis Milder, Bob Supak.
The boys are shown early in the day collecting and carrying food supplies to the food serving area. Photo also shows the food serving area and the BBQ pit at the far right where the hamburgers and hotdogs were being cooked.
Just about ready to start serving the National Guard and their family members.
And the masses are being served ... Hamburgers, Hotdogs and a bit of fun jabber jaw.
The above photo shows Randy, John & Ronnie making sure the beverage line is kept moving.
Hamburgers...
Hotdogs - Come & get it! Note the size of that chow line in the background!
Dang! - Where's the end of that chow line!
Ahhhhhh ... The VVA crew gets to eat!
And finally, a bit of R&R for the VVA crew.
The photo above shows the parked cars and size of the chow line - it gives some idea of the large attendance at this event.
Probably 200-300 National Guard and their family members attended the event.
