The 19th Biennial VVA National Convention will be held July 15-20, 2019, in Spokane, Washington (see link below). |
VVA National has just announced (5/4/2018) that it is sponsoring a "VVA 2019 Calendar Photo Contest". It appears that the contest is open to anyone who wants to submit photos of some VVA Chapter event. The promo email reads as follows:
VVA is asking loyal Members like you to submit photos of your Chapter activities and community events for the chance to have your Chapter featured in the 2019 VVA Calendar! This photo contest is open to photographers of all ages. Photographers under the age of 18 years will be asked to submit a parental waiver, should their photos be selected for inclusion in the 2019 VVA Calendar. VVA will determine entrants' eligibility in its sole discretion. We're proud of the important work our Chapters do - and we know you are, too. So, to highlight the necessity of that work, VVA is looking for candid action shots of Chapters and State Councils providing services and hosting events within their local communities or for fellow veterans. Reach out to your Chapter's leadership, fellow Members, and any friends or family who take photos at your Chapter's events. Thank you for your continued support as a loyal VVA Member. We look forward to seeing examples of your Chapter's important work.

The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.
In addition, those U.S. citizen civilians who were actively involved in supporting war efforts (such as war industry workers, USO workers, flight instructors, medical volunteers, etc.) are also invited to share their valuable stories.
