Frank then re-opened the meeting open at 8:00 PM. Vice President, Leonard Sternadel (above photo)
then presented the following chapter business.

Leonard reminded the membership that Veteran's Day is Nov 11th, and that there will be a
Veteran's Day Family Outing
celebration at Ryan Lake on Sat, Nov 14, for our chapter membership. All chapter members are encouraged to attend
and bring the kids & grandkids. Again this year the Ferris Wheel, Bounce House, and of course fishing will be
available. Bring rods/reels and bait; lawn chairs, snack or dessert, and adult beverages. Tea and water will be provided.
Note that our VVA Chapter 1069 has participated in many Veterans Family Day celebrations for our chapter hosted by
Mike Ryan of El Campo. Mike is a big supporter of all Veterans. Use the links below to view the reports of some of

Leonard then gave a special recognition & gift presentation, regarding the
Everyday Heroes Fundraiser Banquet event, that was held Wednesday, October
21, 2020, in the El Campo Civic Center. Note that 40 of our chapter members and spouses attended that event!
The special recognition & gift went to Chapter member, Buck Matthews, of
East Bernard. See photo below.
Buck was recognized for his outstanding achievement of selling a total of 52, $100 raffle tickets for the EveryDay Heroes
fundraiser! Leonard presented Buck with a signed copy of Shilo Harris' book, "Steel Will". See photo above & below.
Note that as an added bonus for Buck, one of his ticket customers was a "winning ticket" at the fundraiser raffle, and won
a brand new Mahindra yard tractor, with a front-end loader!
Shilo Harris was the special guest speaker at the fundraiser event. He was a Cavalry scout with the 10th Mountain Division
in Iraq. He survived a brutal IED attack, and, after more than 75 surgeries, he is now a motivational speaker. Congratulations
to Buck for supporting the EveryDay Heroes organization, and in turn helping many Veterans.

Leonard then reminded everyone that the 2nd session of the restarted monthly group counceling sessions (cancelled since March)
was held today in El Campo. And because of the Covid virus issue, James Bailey hosted the session via speaker phone.
-
Our Next chapter meeting is Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Note that this would normally be our annual Christmas party
event, however because of the current Covid virus pandemic, we are not sure at this time if we will schedule the
party or not. Leonard and the BOD will decide if we'll have the party, and an email will be sent out to everyone very soon.
-
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
