On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 24 chapter members and spouses attended the 2021 Everday Heroes Fundraiser Banquet that was held at the El Campo Civic Center.
Special guest speaker was Marcus Lutrell (see photo below - Marcus on the right). Marcus is a retired United States Navy SEAL, who received the Navy Cross for his actions in 2005 facing Taliban fighters during Operation Red Wing. Marcus gave a very interesting presentation. VVA Chapter 1069 gave a donation & reserved 3 tables at the event for its membership. Along with the 3 tables, 24 tickets were made available for our membership to attend the event.
Everyone that attended had a good time. We also had a really big turnout at last year's fundraiser. Use the link below to see the full report of our participation in that event.

Everyday Heroes on FacebookThis is an annual event for the Everday Heroes organization to raise monies for the various veteran related projects they sponsor during the year. This organization led by local El Campo resident, Mike Ryan, has been a BIG supporter of VVA chapter 1069 the past years, including both monetary donations and hosting our entire chapter membership to many outings out on their lake property. And the membership of VVA Chapter 1069 does appreciate the support.
For our newer members, below are links to some pages on our website, that show the previous Everyday Heroes fundraiser events that our chapter has participated in the past years.

Our Chapter officers and Board of Directors do hope that all those attending the banquet did have a good time and that it was an opportunity for some fun and relaxation in these recent strange times. A big thanks goes out to chapter member spouse, Carolyn Milder, for taking all the pictures shown in this report!
